Some dream of India, where their cousins are stars
But they don’t like the crowds, so they stay where they are

Can cows climb stairs?

I’m running on the little upstairs track at SCC when it hits me. What if?

There’s only one staircase. The track is three lanes wide, with no exit points. If they make it up here, I’m a goner for sure.

The worst part: I feel great after infusion no. 2, so they will be killing me just as a begin my dramatic comeback. Cows don’t care.

I once wrote a song about a cow named Harold who grew up on the farm, oblivious to the fact that he was destined to be a veal cutlet. I suppose this is payback.

Did I mention I felt great? Three miles, 15:30 pace. I’m slowly figuring out ways to trick Coach Benji, who has these crazy ideas about “moderation” and “avoiding certain death.” I’m guessing some sort of liability concern baked into the program. Little does he know.

First session of lifting weights was a rousing success. I soon will look like Charles Atlas, if Charles Atlas is a scrawny elderly gentleman with not a muscle to be found.

We hit 114 degrees today, so I’m counting the walk from the truck to the track as bonus heat training. Who thought it was a good idea to build civilization here? Probably cows.

Time for another visit to the countryside. I wonder if they make running cattle prods.
