• Designed and edited pages for seven newspapers in Texas, California and Washington. I routinely worked on three or four newspapers nightly.
• I regularly served as the liaison between the Central Desk and several of the local markets, from going through their budgets at the start of the shift to finishing the principal layout for the local sections.
• I routinely was the last set of eyes on pages before they were sent, making corrections, improving headlines and signing off on pages.

East Valley Tribune

• Editor at 100,000-circulation newspaper in suburban Phoenix.
• Duties include booking sections and designing pages for four editions of the Tribune. Principal designer of the local and wire pages.
• Key member of the group making decisions on front page and story play.
• Duties included design of the front page, metro section, nation/world section
and special sections.
• In charge of the night news desk operation on many nights for several years.

EXPERTISE
Solid copy editing skills, news judgement, page design and time management on deadline. Award-winning headline writing skills with an extensive editing background. I currently work with InDesign. I am immersed in social media and although my job does not include web posting, I’m familiar with the basics and would be comfortable taking on that responsibility.
